Timothy Gregson, D.W.S. has been the Director of Music at St. Paul Catholic Center since August of 2017. A native of Virginia, Tim has over 25 years of experience in music and worship ministry. Graduating with a Bachelor of Music from Covenant College and Master of Church Music from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Tim’s main focus is on teaching choirs and congregations to lift up their voices in song to the Lord. Having served as Director of Worship and Music at First Presbyterian Church, Aurora, IL for over 12 years, in June of 2013 Tim completed a Doctor of Worship Studies from the Institute of Worship Studies in Jacksonville, Florida. The rigorous course studies resulted in his conviction that the Catholic Church is the church founded by Jesus Christ. Both lifelong Presbyterians, Tim and his wife Melissa joined the Catholic Church in March of 2016. They currently have five children and homeschool. As a vocal performer, Tim has premiered as tenor soloist in numerous classical productions, including J.S. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion and Mass in B Minor, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Creation, and many others. As choir director he has conducted many cantatas (with full orchestra), lessons and carols, and sacred concerts.
