What is a Pastoral Intern and what do they do?
The Pastoral Interns are a new program for St. Paul’s in 2021. They will serve at the heart of the apostolic work of St. Paul Catholic Center and will be engaged in all of the works of the Center, especially in our apostolate to Indiana University students. The Interns will have direct access to the Pastor and Associate Pastors, work under the direct supervision of one of our priests, and assist them in pastoral care of Indiana University. The interns will be assigned to work in one of the following areas: Retreats/Liturgy, Hospitality, Service, and Outreach. In addition to their area of responsibility, Interns will meet one-on-one with students and lead small groups, serve as greeters at our front desk, and work with our development office. The Interns also work to make St. Paul’s a welcoming and friendly place for students to visit and make their spiritual home.
What are the primary expectations of an intern?
Pastoral Interns are part of the core leadership at St. Paul’s Catholic Student Center. As such they are expected to lead by example in the Christian life.
