1864:
Building of St. Charles Borromeo Church at 3rd & Dunn. IU students are served by the parish and staff of St. Charles.

1928:
Rev. Paul Deery appointed pastor of St. Charles. He organizes the Indiana University Chapter of the National Newman Club with more than 200 students affiliated.

1952:
Building of the new St. Charles Borromeo Church at 3rd & High St. Old St. Charles becomes the Indiana University Newman Center.

1958:
Rev. Victor Wright named as full-time chaplain of the Newman Center.

1963:
Rev Joseph McCrisaken named chaplain of the Newman Center.

1967:
April 6 - 2.85 acres of land on E. 17th St transferred from Indiana University to the Archdiocese of Indianapolis to be used for a new student center. Rev James Higgins becomes administrative director of the Center.

1968:
Official dedication of the 1000-seat church and canonical parish of St. Paul Catholic Center. Rev John Schoettelkotte assigned as Associate Pastor. Mary Ann Stephens begins as parish secretary.

1976:
Rev John Fabian, O.P. assigned as Associate Pastor (until 1982).

1979:
September - Gloria Jensen-Bier begins as Coordinator of Religious Education.

1983:
July - Rev Bob Sims appointed as Pastor; Rev Kim Wolf joins pastoral staff.

1984:
Sr. Mary Moloney, SP begins as Pastoral Associate.

1986:
Bob Sims and Kim Wolf named co-pastors

1989:
Jerry Marsischky named as Director of Development. Sr. Mary Moloney leaves in the summer

1990:
Trudy Marsischky joins Jerry as Directors of Finance and Development.

1991:
August - Sr. Mary Mongtomery, SP begins as Pastoral Associate.

1992:
October - Joanne Jackowiak replaces Mary Ann Stephens as parish secretary.

1993:
October 31 - New renovation of Church & Gathering Space is dedicated to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the church.

1994:
Rev Daniel Atkins named Co-Pastor (while continuing as part-time Chaplain of Roncalli High School in Indianapolis)

1995:
June - Rev Dan Atkins named Co-Pastor with Bob Sims. Mark Erdosy begins as Pastoral Associate with primary focus on Student Life.

1996:
August - Rev Michael O'Mara appointed as Co-Pastor. Mrs. Jane Cromwell begins as bookkeeper. Mr. Mike Gilbert begins as Business Manager.

1997:
January - Kairos #1 held at Bradford Woods.

1998:
July - Rev. Dan Atkins named as Pastor. Rev. Nick Dant provides sacramental assistance on weekends while completing graduate studies.

1999:
Sr. Concetta Fabo, OSF begins as Pastoral Associate, focus on RCIA and Home communion ministry. Rev. Joseph Moriarity provides sacramental assistance on weekends while serving as archdiocesan vocation director.

2000:
Joanne Jackowiak named as Business Manager. Pat Shier begins as parish secretary.

2001:
July - Rev. Don Schmidlin comes to reside as Senior Priest in Residence and provide sacramental assistance on weekends.

2002:
++ Bridget McIntyre hired as part-time Director of Youth Ministry.
++ Vallia Youngs hired as part-time office assistant.
++ Jill Arthur begins as bookkeeper.
++ Gabriel Lara hired as Multi-Cultural Minister.

2003:
++ February - Jennifer Seitzinger begins as bookkeeper.
++ July - Timothy Gonzalez begins as full-time Multi-Cultural Minister
++ July - Conor McIntyre begins as Pastoral Associate, Student life.

2004:
++ December - Archdiocese offers ministry to the Domincans

2005:
++ July 1 - Dominicans arrive at St. Paul: Fr. Bob Keller, pastor [from Abq]; Fr. Stan Drongowski, Associate [from Kenosha WI]; and Fr. Rich Litzau, Associate [from St. Louis MO].
++ July 5 - Jillian Vandermarks joins staff as new Director of Religious Education
++ First meeting newly formed Spiritual Life Committee (under Fr. Stan)
++ First meeting of re-formed Building & Grounds Committee (under Fr. Rich)
++ Oct 26 - first meeting of newly formed Stewardship Committee (with Fr. Bob)
++ Nov 2 - first IU noontime Brown Bag Forum of faculty, students, staff, at the Kelley Business School, topic:
"Creationism, Evolution, Intelligent Designand a Catholic Perspective." About 20 participated. Two more meetings happen:
Nov 16 and Dec 7.
++ Nov 18 - Pat Shier retires from parish secretary position.
++ Dec 7 - PPC adopts new Constitution.

2006:
++ Jan 10 - Vallia Youngs hired as parish secretary
++ Summer - Fr. Rich L and Jaimie Thompson set up home-visit and hospital communion ministry, including St. Charles ministers.
++ New brochures created.
++ Two new T-shirt designs developed: St Paul logo and "GOD"
++ July 2 - new webpage begins. New domain established: hoosiercatholic.org
++ July 10-16 - Youth on Catholic Work Camp in Shawnee, OK
++ August - Brother Patrick Tobin, O.P., first Dominican student pastoral intern
++ Aug 6 - James MacMillan, Scottish composer and Lay Dominican. Premiere of his "Sun-Dogs" at Auer auditorium at IU. This piece was dedicated to the Dominican Order.
++ Sep 12 - first Red Mass at St. Paul for lawyers
++ Sep 18 - Inter-religious panel of seven traditions
++ Oct 2 - Town Hall meeting of parish leaders
++ Nov 27 - Archdiocesan capital campaign begins; leaders are Brian & Danica D'Onofrio and Ron & Sally Kofmehl

2007:
++ Jan 28 - first Aquinas Forum, 2 pm. "Thomas Aquinas on Love and Forgiveness." by Dr. Eleanore Stump (St Louis Univ).
++ Feb - Five week series (Mondays) with Muslim Center on Understanding Islam
++ Feb 5 - Conor McIntyre resigns as campus minister; new search begins.
++ May - Freshman Newsletter, vol 1, issue 1. Stephanie, chief-editor
++ June 11 - first meeting of newly constituted Liturgy Committee
++ Aug - Brother Cassian Sama, O.P., Dominican student intern, arrives.
